Indoor Arena Safety Briefing /Rules

GSF Indoor CQB Arena

Mandatory Safety Briefing

- The building is made up of 2 areas. The PLAYING FIELD and STAGING AREA.
- The Staging Area is the SAFE zone where eye protection is not required and all weapons are to be clear and safe.
- The Playing Field is the only place you can have a loaded weapon and is made up of 3 Primary Zones (Z1, Z2 and Z3) plus an Outside Zone. There are 2 doors that separate Staging Area and the Playing Field (1 door to Z1, 1 door to Z3). Eye Protection is required on the Playing Field.
- Players are identified by wearing a colored SASH on their body to indicate what team they are on.
- We play a variety of games that each have a different set of rules and respawn locations. A coordinator will give you a briefing of each game type prior to entering the playing field.
- Please give your attention to coordinators when giving briefings or announcements. Do not disrupt or talk over top of a coordinator.
- GSF Indoor Field is staffed with Trained Referees who are put forth to oversee game play and enforce the following rule set. If a player fails to abide by the rules, they will receive a strike. We only allow up to 2 strikes, so a third strike will have a player sent home for the day. A player may also be asked by a referee to take a death in combat and return to respawn, or possibly sent off the field for the rest of the match.
- In the event of an emergency, yell out REAL WORLD as loud as you can to stop all game play. If you hear a REAL WORLD called out, stop where you are and put your weapon on safety. DO NOT SHOOT your weapon until a GAME ON has been called out.

Safety Rules

  • ALL weapons must have MAGS OUT with a CLEAR CHAMBER and have SAFETY ON and BARREL COVERED when in the Staging Areas (Pistols that are uncovered must be holstered). You are to make sure your weapon is clear and safe BEFORE entering the building or staging area.
  • Do Not test fire/dry fire your weapons in the safety area. If you discharge a BB in the safety area, you will be immediately ejected.
  • Maintain constant muzzle control when in the staging area. Do not point your weapon at ANYONE when off the playing field. Do not shine flashlights or lasers at anyone when off the playing field. Turning you laser on when OUTSIDE of the building is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
  • Eye Protection must be FULL-SEAL ANSI Z87 rated or better and is required to have a strap that goes all the way around the head. Bottom Plugs are NOT to be removed. ‘Mesh’ style eye-protection is NOT ALLOWED.
  • You MUST have your eye-protection fully sealed to your face BEFORE you enter the playing field. You are NOT to remove your eye-protection on the field at ANY TIME for ANY REASON. No exceptions. (THIS INCLUDES NETTED AREAS)
  • NO REAL WEAPONS (firearms/knives) are allowed in the building. ALL real weapons are to remain in your vehicle.
  • ALL Weapons are to pass a chronograph test of 350 FPS or LESS with a .20 gram bb and must be capable of meeting all criteria.
  • No ammo lighter than .20g or heavier than .28g allowed
  • One shot anywhere on the body is a kill – when hit, you are required to yell “HIT” very loud and clearly, raise your hand above your head to indicate yourself as a dead player. QUICKLY leave the firefight and return to respawn shouting “DEAD MAN” loudly to prevent being shot again.
  • Semi-Automatic Fire ONLY – Full Automatic and Burst Fire are strictly prohibited. (Scatter guns are acceptable)
  • Semi-Automatic fire is not to exceed 4 rounds per second. This is called the 4:1 rule.
  • No Minimum Engagement Distance (MED) – Do not ‘barrel stuff’ other players - Players are NOT REQUIRED to accept a ‘bang bang’ or ‘surrender’ style safety kill. It is recommended that you shoot your opponent.
  • Dead men don’t talk – You are not allowed to relay information to other players when you are dead and walking back to respawn.
  • Gun Hits and Ricochets do NOT count as a kill – When in doubt, call it out. If you are hit and unsure where it came from, call it as a death and return to respawn.
  • A player may use an approved melee weapon to make a ‘knife kill’. A single touch anywhere on the body counts as a knife kill. You cannot hit or stab players with a knife. You cannot throw knives. Knife Kills are honored as ‘silent kills’. If you are killed with a knife, do not call ‘HIT’. Quietly leave the location of your death then call “DEAD MAN” while returning to respawn. You may substitute a magazine as a knife under the same rules. Knives are not to exceed 12 inches in overall length. ALL MELEE WEAPONS MUST BE APPROVED
  • Grenades kill an entire room or anyone standing within 25ft that can see the grenade. Your device must properly discharge to count as a kill. A grenade must be UNDERHAND tossed and cannot be thrown over walls. Hard cover such as walls, doors and vehicles will protect a player from being killed. Bunkers such as pallets/barrels do not protect a player. You are NOT allowed to throw grenades in tunnels and you cannot fill grenades with powders, liquids, glitter, etc. Smoke Grenades and pyrotechnics are not allowed inside the building.
  • No Blind Firing – You must have eyes on target when discharging your weapon. Do not point your weapon over or around obstacles
  • No Keyhole Shooting – You cannot use small cracks or holes to shoot through. If the opening is big enough to fit your fist through, it is OK to shoot through.
  • You cannot hold windows and doors shut with force and you cannot breach doors and windows with force.
  • NEVER use BBs that are on the ground! Always load your magazines with new, unused ammo.
  • DO NOT climb on walls or obstacles. Do not move obstacles or furniture. Do not enter or climb on vehicle.
  • Do not shoot your weapons up towards the ceiling to prevent shooting lights, cameras and speakers.
  • One-Second Rule: Players who engage and shoot each other at the same time (within ONE SECOND) are to call a ‘parley’ in which BOTH players take a death and return to respawn. If you are NOT facing your target when you are shot, the One-Second rule does NOT apply.
  • Always maintain good sportsmanship and treat all other players with respect. A ‘bad attitude’ will not be tolerated
  • No Overshooting Players
  • No Foul Language
  • No Verbal Abuse – Don’t shout at players to ‘call their hit’
  • No Physical Conduct/No horseplay
  • Tobacco use is to be used outside of the building ONLY and you must be of legal age to use. Do not spit your tobacco on the ground or throw cigarette butts on the ground.
